Sleepy Lipari

View of the second harbour of Lipari with the island Vulcano in the distance

Here is a collection of photographs from Lipari village on Lipari island that I took in early July. It’s surprisingly touristic in the village centre but there’s still plenty of charm outside the main tourist centre.

The archeological excavation at the Benedictine monastery

The museum that is housed in the Castle/Benedictine monastery has an astonishing collection of significant artefacts. I’ll write a separate post about the museum itself.

Sarcophagi from the Necropolis in Lipari

The sarcophagi shown above were relocated to the grounds of the monastery from the Necropolis in Lipari. Many artefacts from the sarcophagi are included in the museum.

Lipari island offers beautiful views in every direction.
